Description
This plein air painting by Jean LeGassick depicts the Malibu coastline from Leo Carrillo Beach with a calm view of the Pacific Ocean. Known as one of Los Angeles' most scenic beaches, Leo Carrillo is known for its miles of soft sand, sea caves, and interesting rock formations. In this painting, LeGassick captured a scene of seagulls hovering over rocks, as they tide pool for sea creatures, such as hermit crabs, sea urchins, limpets, and starfish. The artist captured a spontaneous moment in nature.
