Description
The painting documents the July 23, 2016 wildfire in the Santa Clarita Valley and its effects 30 miles away in the calm of the Los Angeles Country Club's newly remodeled South Course. Peter Adams draws the viewer into the scene with his tones of contrasting cools against warms and undulating hills and paths. His painterly style and use of the broad brush lends a lively character to this special place of Respite for avid golfers.
Created during the Invitational Plein Air Event at Los Angeles Country Club on the South Course, July 22-24, 2016. Organized by American Legacy Fine Arts in Collaboration with LACC Art Committee.
