Artist Statement
"This painting began from studies made while on a mule pack trip to the High Sierra. We camped at Hungry Packer Lake in the John Muir Wilderness. I was struck by how white the granite was in this area. John Muir called the Sierra the "Range of Light" and these stark but beautiful rocks certainly do shine."
—Jean LeGassick
