Artist Statement
"In some parts of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, particularly the Portuguese Bend area, the earth has been moving and making it necessary for water lines to be flexible and above ground. Also, some homes are built on stilts to help keep them level. This home was vacant and being worked on up in the hills above where artists Dan Pinkham and Stephen Mirich live. Painting this area is like being in another world, painting unusual subjects everywhere—even houses up on stilts.”
