"Contrasted with the struggles and hardships of this vanishing way of life is the serenity and dignity of this fishing community. This lone grouping of boats in the calm, reflective waters seems to honor them in a fitting way, while also alluding to the setting of the sun on this traditional lifestyle. This painting was painted on location (en plein air)".
