Artist Statement
"Rockpile is a favorite surfing spot for the local surfers in Laguna Beach. The rocky reefs create a nice break when there is any surf. It is also a gorgeous place to paint, with views looking up and down the coast, from up on the bluffs or down on the sand. I painted this one quickly, as the afternoon sun and glare moved across the water, creating this high key, fluid scene."
