Artist Statement
“I am fortunate to live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains; just a short drive uphill gets me to mountains, rivers and pristine painting sites. Escaping the heat of the foothills one morning, I traveled up to a favorite painting spot. While exploring the area with my dog, I happened upon this little unnamed pond tucked behind some giant granite outcroppings. This spot was a green oasis amid the heat of the day, a beautiful spot to paint with just bullfrogs and dragonflies to keep me company.”
