Description
An original oil painting by Peter Adams depicting a young woman with a head scarf, seated in the Russian Orthodox church in Hollywood, California during the 2020-21 pandemic. In the background is a golden candle stand and an icon of John the Baptist. The painting is serene and has an overall spiritual sense.
Artist Statement:
"During the pandemic this young woman found solace in her nearly vacant Orthodox church. The lit candle she holds represents her prayers for her loved ones who have passed, for friends to be spared from the ravages of COVID, and for our world to return to a time of health."
