Description
In this oil painting titled, In Tradition, Mian Situ pays tribute to the grace and refinement of traditional Chinese culture. Every detail in the scene is intended to heighten one’s appreciation for beauty and heritage. With the muted reds and greens of swirling patterns in the wallpaper, Situ keeps the viewer entranced within the scene. The diagonal composition that begins with the full blossoms of roses on the lower left and continues up towards the top of the young woman’s head, projects a feeling of significance and strength.
