Theodore N. Lukits (1897-1992): An Aesthetic Realist & Peter Adams and Tim Solliday: Continuing the Lukits Legacy at Palos Verdes Art Center

American Legacy Fine Arts, in partnership with the Palos Verdes Art Center, Jonathan Art Foundation, and California Art Club, presents an exhibition of approximately 28 oils and pastels by Theodore N. Lukits (1897-1992), highlighting his atmospheric plein air landscapes and captivating Orientalist paintings. The featured works are accompanied by personal artifacts of Lukits to enhance his philosophy and the academic experience.
In addition is a contiguous exhibition that explores “Lukits as Artist and Teacher” through two of his pre-eminent students, Peter Adams and Tim Solliday, revealing how Lukits influenced future generations with traditional art training in a modernist era.
