Biography

W. Jason Situ was born in 1949 in Guangdong, China. He began painting in high school during China’s tumultuous Cultural Revolution and completed his art education at Guangzhou Fine Arts Institute, one of China’s most prestigious and competitive art academies.

In 1989, Situ immigrated to the United States with his family. He was fascinated by the beautiful California landscape and soon decided to become a plein air painter. Since 1997, W. Jason Situ has been a full-time fine artist active in many professional plein air events and exhibitions throughout the United States.
