Description
Created en plein air at Kahului Bay on the island of Maui in Hawaii, this oil painting is done with bravura brushstrokes to depict the island's shoreline with a sense of spontaneity and freshness. Large clouds roll over the beach casting shadows, and the white choppy waves express the commotion of gusty winds. The composition is dynamic and the contrasting colors exude energy.
