Artist Statement
"The poetry of the passing clouds dramatically looming over a field surrounded by bougainvillea just outside my studio in Carson inspired this contemplative scene of the end of summer. The painting represents an homage of sorts that reflects the beauty of California's landscape and the compositional sense and tranquil mood of paintings I recently experienced at the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow."
