Artist Statement
"This is a view that is very familiar to me. I see this as I drive home from my studio in the late afternoons and evenings, the fading light on the walls of Laguna Canyon at the Big Bend, framed by all of the trees. I found just the right spot and painted this en plein air, working quickly to capture that fleeting moment when everything was lit just right."
