Artist Statement
"I completed this painting after a sketching visit to Santa Cruz Island, part of Channel Islands National Park off the coast of Santa Barbara. The view is near a campground on the island where I was attracted by the scale of the stand of Eucalyptus trees. I painted the colors in a higher key in order to enhance the interplay of color temperatures and their warm and cool relationships."
