“With the assistance of a highly qualified carpenter, I design and paint these frames to complement some of my more whimsical and brightly colored compositions on canvas.
This style of framing was first thought up by me to go with one of my paintings called Mancini Fiddler. The style was inspired both by classical architecture and the old world European influence upon early American Carnival rides (in particular the carved and elaborately ornamented carousel horse rides)
Each one is carefully painted by hand and consideration for overall harmony and a surprise effect is something I take a joy in. I like the craftsmanship of it, and I use high-quality artist grade oils in the process so that I can more carefully match the colors that I see in my paintings to the wood itself.”
