Artist Statement
“If there is enough water, cottonwoods will thrive, even in a hot dry desert climate. This scene was painted in Colorado while on a trip visiting friends. There’s plenty of water here for these messy looking trees to impress us during the colorful fall bloom season. Once the trees are letting go of their seeds in cotton-like fluff it looks like the snow blowing. Just be aware, that cottonwood fluff is highly flammable, you can look it up, plus artist Ray Roberts said so. The frame is 22k gold and kept simple to not distract from the busy painting.”
