Description
The reputation of High Voltage Tattoo Shop is among the most famous in the world. The owner, entrepreneur, and pop icon, tattoo artist Kat Von D (born Katherine von Drachenberg) helped popularize the art of body tattoos by starring in her own successful reality TV series called "LA Ink" for TLC. Located on North La Brea Avenue in West Hollywood, High Voltage shop is part of LA's contemporary urban culture and is frequented by Hollywood entertainers and creative types, including recognizable film and TV celebrities and rock stars. In this painting, Scott W. Prior emphasizes the electric energy that exudes from High Voltage during late hours by painting lively strokes in yellows and reds as contrasted against a still, deep-blue nighttime sky.
