Description Looking Outward, Downtown Fashion District depicts the triumphs and tribulations of the pursuit of happiness in the urban landscape. The title, “looking outward”, refers to a state of dreaming and longing. The painting features a blue-collar worker gazing outside the factory window, longing for a different present. Peters’ artwork invokes a sense of alienation and isolation in the contemporary metropolis.
