On consignment with American Legacy Fine Arts through a private collector from Kern County, California who acquired the work circa 1997-1998 from Gerth's Art and Artifacts in Beverly Hills who acquired the work in 1992 at the American Indian and Western Relic Show in Pasadena, California where the artist was exhibiting her work.

The painting was created in 1992 en plein air in Bishop, California.

Description
In this ranching scene in California's high desert country, Jean LeGassick portrays the cowboy's everyday task of locating and wrangling stray calves before they drift onto the open plain. Grazing nearby is the mama cow who hears her baby calling, "Mom M M."

Awards
Mom M M! received First Place in oil as well as Best of Show in the American Indian and Western Relic Show in Pasadena, California 1992.
