Artist Statement "This was my first experience painting in the High Sierra. This is the land that Edgar Payne made famous and it was hard not to feel his presence. It is crisp and dry, and challenging to find something I had not seen done well many times before. The Sabrina Basin in morning light fit the bill nicely for me. It was worth the mornings and frozen fingers."
