Description
The painting was created from the artist's original plein air study during the early summer of 2004 and depicts a scene in the Big Pine area of the Sierra Nevada. The view is from Fifth Lake looking south. Visible in the middle ground is Mt. Robinson (elev. 12,967 feet) with the Palisade Glacier behind to the left. To access this location, Peter Adams mule-packed for two weeks during which time he created several studies in oil and pastel.
