Artist Statement
"I’ve always found the bromeliad plant a very beautiful and unusual plant. In this work I liked the idea of looking through it to the pansies. The pansies seem to look back at the viewer and set up a nice rhythm. The large plant carries the green foliage through the right side of the painting and has a spatial sense as the light and air move throughout the room."
