Artist Statement
"The lilies were painted in the south/east corner of my studio with an open window to the east and the blinds as a backdrop on the south window. It was painted over several days of overcast weather. I was so struck by the cool soft light that illuminated the subject and seemed to glow behind the lilies. I also loved the color harmonies of the pink/reds, greens and grays."
