Artist Statement
"Several Chinese artists and I traveled across Russia in 2018, a trip which totaled 9000 kilometers. During our journey we came across Suzdal, a town with many churches. I was inspired by this church and its deep red roof and walls. The splash of red reminded me of paintings by Russian master Isaac Levitan, a landscape painter, who employed similar reds and oranges in his paintings — inspiration took hold of me and compelled me to paint."
