Artist Statement
“This painting came out of a painting expedition to northeast Utah near Capitol Reef National Park. As I explored an area outside the Park, I came upon this scene which resonated with my senses.
What drew me here was the quiet simplicity and spaciousness of open skies.
Sympathetic resonance comes to mind when considering similarities between music (sound and tones) to painting (visual/color tones that create a visual music). The open sky blankets the landscape with a visual harmony."
