Artist Statement
"I came upon this view near the foothills one morning and the scene immediately reminded me of the area, before development took over. Orange and Lemon groves, strawberry fields and eucalyptus wind rows prevailed over most of this land less than a century ago, and finding this little undisturbed corner reminded me of the wonderful paintings of the plein air painters of the 1920's and 30's. Sadly, this field has also become a victim of developers, as it is now a new housing tract." —Michael Obermeyer
