Description
The painting represents a lovely 1920s red-tiled Mediterranean-style home nestled in the middle ground within a sunny Southern California landscape surrounded by various green trees, including palm, eucalyptus, and cypress, among others. Except for a few small white clouds, the sky is clear and has a beautiful light blue color that adds to the inviting setting. The location may be in Pasadena, where the artist frequently painted. The brushwork is loose and painterly, and the colors are vivid. Based on the artist's impressionistic style and the size of the panel, the painting was most likely created en plein air.
