Matthew Segotta

Vice President

Matthew Lawrence Segotta applies his comprehensive background in arts management and art consulting to design effective and practical communications and marketing strategies for ALFA. Segotta studied Sculpture, first under the tutelage of Master Sculptor Christopher Slatoff, and then at California State University of Long Beach (CSULB), ultimately receiving his Bachelor of Fine Arts. Segotta went on to attain his Master of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts from the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN), and remains an active alumnus as a University Entrance Interviewer for the Penn Alumni Interview Program.

As Vice President, Segotta has lead the gallery team in developing its mobile ready website, directing social media marketing, and leading the digitizing and archival process over 35,000 photographs and slides. Segotta believes that through education and dialogue he can further assist in the promotion and veneration of contemporary-traditional art.

Additionally, Segotta is an educator who has taught in both Los Angeles and Philadelphia. He is a current faculty member at Art Center College of Design, where he prepares and delivers lectures, demonstrations, and tours focused on the history, theory and practical techniques of contemporary and historic sculpture. Segotta has provided curatorial and professional consultations for several prominent southern California, Pennsylvania, and New York based institutions and “Blue Chip” artists. These accomplishments include the curation of solo and group exhibitions at Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, Keystone Art Space, University of Pennsylvania as well as many others. Furthermore, he has advised on the creation and installation of over 15 public monuments as well as large scale artworks exhibited at locations including the USC Fisher Museum of Art, Autry Museum of the American West, and the Whitney and Venice Biennials.

In his free time, Segotta enjoys offering his time and experience to youth based organizations including Boy Scouts of America (he is a recipient of the BSA Eagle Rank) and as a Senior Project Mentor for students at Anderson W Clark Magnet School.
